The super divorce
Few narratives captivate our attention as intensely as those recounting the super wealthy, often referred to as the “uber-rich,” embroiled in legal disputes. These courtroom dramas unfold as members of this elite class employ the Fourth Estate as a battleground to dissect and scrutinise their otherworldly wealth.
What entices us to these stories? Is it the allure of super yachts, fast cars, private jets, exquisite art collections, and dazzling jewels that capture our fascination? Perhaps, it’s the theatricality of the conflicts played out on the stage of the legal system and the vast sums at stake. Either way, beneath this allure lies an intriguing question. How do the lesser party, individuals with notably less financial resources, navigate the odds and successfully enforce a judgment against their affluent counterparts? The answer is far from simple. In most cases, these lesser parties, outmatched in terms of financial clout, opt for settlements that fall significantly short of the promises made to them.
Yet, there exists a group of exceptionally courageous individuals, primarily women (in our experience), who defy this trend. They seek litigation funding and assemble dedicated teams to ensure the enforcement of their rightful judgments. While we won’t divulge specifics about our clients or cases, this podcast delves into the intricacies of our work. We discuss the strategic nuances of public relations, the critical aspects of security, investigations, and the complexities of asset recovery and how we have succeeded for clients in some of the biggest cases in UK legal history.
